Intelligent robot-assisted prostate biopsy


Although fusion biopsy offers significant diagnostic improvements over traditional biopsy, clinicians need to master not only transrectal ultrasound but also be proficient in interpreting all sequences of mp-MRI, which requires extensive training; on the other hand, manual biopsy lacks precise localization methods and has poor reproducibility.Based on existing research, improving localization accuracy and increasing prostate cancer detection rates are the current directions of fusion biopsy development. Therefore, computer software-assisted fusion biopsy technology has emerged, using an elastic fusion algorithm to integrate transrectal ultrasound imaging and mp-MRI to develop an intelligent software-assisted system.

Combined with a robotic surgical arm, this forms a robot-assisted fusion biopsy system that can precisely locate the lesion area and boundaries within 1 mm, intelligently plan the needle puncture trajectory, and achieve three-dimensional localization and navigation of the biopsy needle within the organ. This not only improves the accuracy of cancer screening but also significantly reduces the difficulty of the procedure and minimizes patient injury.基于现有的技术研究,强化定位精度、提高前列腺癌诊断率是当今融合穿刺发展的方向,因而利用计算机软件支持融合穿刺的技术应运而生,即通过一种弹性融合算法来综合经直肠超声成像和mp-MRI,研究出一套智能软件辅助系统。再加上穿刺手术机械臂,就形成了机器人辅助的融合穿刺系统,可以在1mm内精准定位病灶区域和边界,智能规划针刺轨迹,实现器官内活检针的立体定位导航。不仅提高了癌症筛查准确率,更极大降低了手术难度、减小了病患损伤。
